Iowa man hurt by ricochet after shooting a tree

LANSING, Iowa (AP) — Northeast Iowa authorities are investigating a
shooting where a 27-year-old man injured himself.
The Allamakee County Sheriff's office says the incident happened about 4:30
a.m. Sunday at a home near Lansing.
Authorities say Logan Bunn fired a gun at a tree outside the home, but the
bullet bounced back and hit him.
Police were notified after Bunn showed up at a La Crosse hospital. Bunn is
expected to survive.
The sheriff's office says no foul play is suspected.

Republican, that would make her a near-certainty to be nominated in 2016.

Cherry Blossom Button Art
April always has me itching for spring. Flowers especially Daffodils and
Cherry Blossoms always rank high on my list of favorite things at this time
of year. It also makes me want to update the wall art in my house.

Stockman Warns of Crash Of Fed-Fueled Bubble Economy - Bloomberg
'The U.S. economy
is in a bubble inflated by "phony money" from the Federal Reserve
and will burst within a few years, warned David Stockman, who was budget
director for President Ronald Reagan.

that the Fed's quantitative easing policies in the aftermath of the credit
crisis have flooded stock markets with cash even while the "Main Street

I like to keep a weather eye on Hekla. A long time ago it really blew up
and the ash cloud ended agriculture across Northern Europe for a solid
generation. The year was 1159 BC, twenty years after the Trojan War. Both
dates are good as gold. 1159 BC is by Irish bog tree rings and the Trojan
date by astronomical information in the texts.

What I find difficult to accept is the apparent ethnic insularity of non
English speaking societies. Where the English speaking world, or much of it
at least has found ways to ameliorate racial hatreds, language exclusive
nations have generally failed to do so.
Thus we continue to discover hatreds been taught to children by their long
indoctrinated parents and a quiescent school system that does not confront

It appears we have now finally left the leading edge of the heliosphere.
There may be some other unimagined effect to discover, but that appears
rather unlikely really. I think we are cleanly out of it.
The switch from one regime to another was clear and quick as one would
reasonably expect.
In reality, we have had little in the way of real surprises here. There
was a bow wave and we passed through it. It was a lot thicker than expected
perhaps, but that was unfounded opinion anyway.

Many of you will remember last year's high-profile child sexual abuse
scandal trial in Rochdale. As the abuse was perpetrated by eight men of
Pakistani origin and one Afghan asylum seeker and all the victims were
white under-aged girls, the case provoked a nationwide debate on whether
the crimes had a racial/religious/cultural motivation. Concerns were raised
that the police, CPS, local council and social services had failed to

(CNN) – Five South African soldiers died in a helicopter crash while
patrolling for rhino poachers in the sprawling Kruger National Park.
All aboard the flight were killed in the crash Saturday night, according to
a government spokesman.
The soldiers were conducting Operation Rhino, which aims to combat rampant
poaching at the park.

out of a United Nations convention that fights the spread of droughts just

Up From the Ground Came a Bubblin' Crude, Bitumen That Is
The latest grand winner in the Athabasca bitumen sweepstakes is the State
of Arkansas and what a state it's in thanks to an Exxon Mobil pipeline
failure that has released what the company is calling "over 10,000 barrels"
of heavy crude.
The pipeline has been shut down and Exxon crews are working to "contain"
the spill as in trying to keep it from reaching a nearby lake.

and environmental risks of 23 chemicals, with an emphasis on chemical flame
