Wonderfully balanced echo-chamber

Well, yes, Adel, but 'twas ever thus: *Adel Darwish*: Again publicly funded by force of law BBC News Channel host an entire panel of four lefties (with two known for anti-British views) bashing America, Donald Trump and even prime minister Boris while defending Iran more passionately than defending UK!! He's talking about *Dateline London *of course. I spotted Bari and Polly and thought I'd give it a miss. I've also just spotted a sarcastic tweet about it that catches it very nicely: "Wonderfully balanced echo-chamber!".

Jayant Bhandari on Democracy, Trump and Soleimani

Bienvenido Oplas Jr at Government and Taxes - 21 hours ago
Among my most vocal, very frank libertarian friends is Jayant Bhandari, an Indian investment consultant based in Canada, http://jayantbhandari.com/. He also organizes a yearly libertarian conference in Vancouver, “Capitalism and Morality” https://web.facebook.com/CapitalismMorality/. Below I copy-paste his FB posts this new year 2020. Many of his friends comment on his original thread, Jayant’s response are in the next paragraphs. I don't agree with all of his points but I like his frankness and consistency in arguing for individual freedom and responsibility. Am very happy to pers... more »

*DeVos restores fairness to campus sexual misconduct cases* Last summer, Yale University settled a lawsuit by former basketball captain Jack Montague, alleging that the university unfairly expelled him for sexual misconduct. Montague, the son of an electrical contractor and bookkeeper from Tennessee, was kicked out of Yale midway through his senior year after a female student told a Title IX investigator that, during the previous school year, she hadn’t fully consented to a fourth sexual encounter with the basketball star. Donald Trump Would Be A Fool to Fight A War Against Iran

Doug Bandow at The National Interest - 21 hours ago
*Doug Bandow* *Security, Middle East* Trump doesn't understand what he's about to start. *Key point: *Any conflict with Iran would immediately become a regional war. Sixteen years ago, the George W. Bush administration manipulated intelligence to scare the public into backing an aggressive war against Iraq. The smoking gun mushroom clouds that National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice warned against didn’t exist, but the invasion long desired by neoconservatives and other hawks proceeded. Liberated Iraqis rejected U.S. plans to create an American puppet state on the Euphrates an... more »

The Glock 44: Glock’s First Rimfire Pistol (We Have Questions)

Kyle Mizokami at The National Interest - 21 hours ago
*Kyle Mizokami* *Technology, * And some answers. One of the most unusual developments in handguns this year was the revelation that Austria’s Glock was finally coming out with a rimfire pistol. The new Glock 44 will act as a training pistol, providing users of the company’s line of handguns a small caliber training pistol that fires inexpensive training ammunition. How it does on its own as a rimfire pistol in a market saturated with them remains to be seen. In the early 1980s, Austrian business owner Gaston Glock developed a pistol to compete for the Austrian Army pistol contac... more »

Charlie Gao at The National Interest - 21 hours ago

Long derided by veterans and service members in as being hard to shoot, bulky, and unreliable in the military M9 configuration, the Beretta started to become hip again. Likely as a result of the increased interest, Beretta announced a new version of the Beretta 92, the 92X in the summer of 2019. But what prompted the continued interest in the Beretta 92? He must have chewed the inside of his mouth to ribbons during that conversation, but on this occasion, the clock has stopped at just the right point.
