*By Noah* So, Devin Nunes thinks he can dress like a gangster and be dressed to impress. But, all his Capone outfit did was point up how pathetic he is; not comical, not at all, but just a hideous goon who offers a picture of himself that demands darts. Imagine how damn pathetically stupid you have to be that you come to think you can dress like a mobster and promote Putin's conspiracy propaganda and be wholeheartedly accepted into Putin's Russian mob, even with an entree from Donald Trump. No Devin, you may think you're auditioning. You probably even see yourself as a future Rus... more »

Grasyl/Wikimedia Commons] Safety first! *Key point:* Making or reloading your own ammunition is a great way to experiment—if you do it safely. Longtime readers probably won’t find it shocking that I enjoy firing guns. Of the weapons I’ve fired, the World War II-era Thompson submachine gun is my favorite. Not the Tommy, with its large barrel and gangster connotations, but the M1A1 with its long magazine and .45 ACP rounds. Fi... more »

E-cigarettes first emerged in North America in 2004 — as a supposedly safer alternative to smoking traditional, carcinogenic, tobacco cigarettes, and as a potential means to help smokers quit smoking altogether. However, with heavy marketing, an enticing array of flavours and the potential to inhale drugs other than nicotine, vaping has become increasingly popular, parti... more »

No Amount Of Disastrous Failure Can Kill The Fantasy Of A Government-Directed "Great Society"

* It was 1964 — I was in the 8th grade — when Lyndon Johnson, newly elevated to the presidency by the assassination of John F. This was obvious to all thinking people. Experts within the government agencies would quickly set to work to devise the programs that would use the gusher of federal tax revenue to end ... more »

Peace is a Dangerous Game

Unknown at The Verma Report - 1 day ago
Peace is not an ultimate value for a nation. The nations which lose their appetite for power and war are doomed in the long run. When a nation has convinced itself that it faces no existential threats and has achieved lasting peace, its politics gets mired in complacency and hypocrisy and this has a negative consequence for the moral values, courage, intelligence, and integrity of its people. The nation’s culture takes a nihilistic turn and its politics becomes frivolous and corrupt. Its people lose their appetite for hard work and its institutions become incapable of maintaining an... more »
