How the media turned candidate Trump into a racist

Norma at Collecting My Thoughts - 17 hours ago
I’ve never heard the President say anything racist. He’s done more for minorities by making America great again than Obama ever could with hope and change (to a more socialist country). How is it so many Democrats believe this? It’s our media. They get paid for every click. "It began when he announced his intention to run for president in June of 2015. Typical of the media reception he received was the NBC story titled, “Donald Trump Announces Presidential Bid by Trashing Mexico, Mexicans.” What he actually did, of course, was say what every major politician regardless of part... more »

This Colt Assault Rifle Has 1 Big Problem: It Can't Shoot Straight

WarIsBoring at Test Feed Using Fields - 17 hours ago
*WarIsBoring* *Security, * In the late 1960s, the famous Colt firearms company hoped to give fliers a tiny assault rifle instead. But the final version was awkward, inaccurate and difficult to use. *Civilian shooters often innovate when the military doesn’t. But no one has ever figured out the best way to shoot the Air Force’s tiny assault rifle.* Military aircrews always have to train for the possibility of crashing behind enemy lines. In the event of this disaster scenario, the pilots and crews must rely on the kinds of weapons—mainly pistols and knives—they can carry on their... more »

U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers (And F-35s) Will Soon Become Even More Dangerous

Kris Osborn at Test Feed Using Fields - 17 hours ago
*Kris Osborn* *Security, * Thanks to the MQ-25 Stingray. The Navy’s first-of-its-kind carrier-based drone has been performing advanced ground testing exercises in preparation for its first flight as soon as this year, a process intended to introduce new attack tactics for the service and substantially improve the “strike” reach of aircraft carriers. The promise of this emerging refueler drone, which will enable F-35Cs and F/A-18s to nearly double their attack range, is expected to bear prominently upon the Navy’s future plans regarding carrier designs, strategies and new techn... more »

Designed to succeed the Los Angeles–class attack submarines and maintain America’s edge in the underwater domain, the class suffered from cost overruns and the collapse of the Soviet Union. Pedophiles and the Boy Scouts

I was very angry - but not surprised - to read of the extent of the problem of pedophiles in the Boy Scouts of America. More alarming details have surfaced about how many people were listed in the Boy Scouts of America’s “perversion files,” according to lawyers who demand the full release of thousands of names of alleged offenders in the files. Nearly 200 of them are from New York and New Jersey. This is a bit of the out of the box type of work that i often engage in. It is all around the economics of wood manufacture. It is inspired by a YouTube video in which medieval log revening was replicated by a team using their methods. What reallystruck me is that the yield of rafters, properly hewn as well is eight rafters compared to a possible four rafters using our methods. This problem of modern productivity has been an open question for me for decades. From what i do know it seems to work fine. Canada did choose to use government pay, but with the added twist of laying off management to the provinces who do regulate hard. There is thus little problem in creating a system that works well enough and as the Europeans have shown it is possible to have doctors outside the system charging more as well. The Question of Citizenship

Making Sense of the Democrat Party Hysteria Over The Question of Citizenship – There are a couple of scholarly papers written by “learned” men mentioned on the Supreme Court website that goes into their interpretation of the use of the question on citizenship. The first I scanned was an abstract written by Nathaniel Persily from Columbia Law School titled “The law of the census: how to count, what to count, whom to count, and where to count them.” The second was a draft of an abstract written in March 2019 by Justin Levitt, Loyola Law submission to Columbia Law Review, … Continue re... more »

Quote of the Day

vonMesser at 'Nox & Friends - 22 hours ago
I think I have a solution to the cobbled together, artificial, Orwellian bullshit pseudo-controversy about confederate statues. Every time someone tries to get rid of one of them, we should agree immediately and whole-heartedly, then replace the statue with a Black confederate or Indian confederate or Hispanic confederate statue. I expect that every time this is done, somewhere between several hundred and several thousand SJWs will die of apoplexy. Eventually there will be none left and we can consign this bit of Big Brotherian bullshit, itself, to the dustbin of history. Tom Kratma... more »

This is why, when the Pentagon delegates the economic headquarters of the countries it wishes to destroy to the US Department of the Treasury, all members of the European Union and NATO are obliged to apply US sanctions.

Four interesting papers

On hep-ph, I choose a paper by Benedetti, Li, Maxin, Nanopoulos about a natural D-braneworld (supersymmetric) inspired model. The word "inspired" means that they believe that similar models (effective QFTs) arise from a precise string theory analysis of some compactifications but as phenomenologists, they don't want to do the string stuff precisely. ;-) It belongs to these authors' favorite flipped \(SU(5)\) or \({\mathcal F}\)-\(SU(5)\) class of models and involves new fields, flippons, near \(1\TeV\). The LSP is Higgsino-like and the viable parameter space is rather compact and ni... more »

Nothing noble about sacrifice

Since so many have used the word today, let's define it: Nothing noble about that. Let's examine it: *“Sacrifice” is the surrender of a greater value for the sake of a lesser one or of a nonvalue. Thus, altruism gauges a man’s virtue by the degree to which he surrenders, renounces or betrays his values (since help to a stranger or an enemy is regarded as more virtuous, less “selfish,” than help to those one loves). The rational principle of conduct is the exact opposite: always act in accordance with the hierarchy of your values, and never sacrifice a greater value to a lesser o... more »
