In a recent interview on CTV Question Period Elizabeth May, the Green Party federal leader*said that they had been getting an increased interest,*and donations, in the party. Today’s message from Vantage Point Devotional

Norma at Collecting My Thoughts - 17 hours ago
“A January 2005 article in TIME magazine reported: “Studies show that the more a believer incorporates religion into daily living—attending services, reading Scripture, praying—the better off he or she appears to be on two measures of happiness: frequency of positive emotions and overall sense of satisfaction with life.” Are you a happy believer? The psalm that contains today’s key verse begins with the confession of a very sad person. Several times, he asks, “Why are you cast down, o my soul?” But he answers his distressing call with hope, praise and prayer. Among answers to d... more »

Filling the Void

It's a funny old game. The problem with politics these days, at least for some, is there's too much of it. Just ask Brenda. But it wasn't very long ago, less than half a decade in fact, that the best political brains and some MPs were worried there was *too little*. From approximately the late 1990s, large numbers of political scientists fretted about the erosion of liberal democracy because people were becoming disengaged. And parties didn't help as they pursued concerns that appeared to matter to parliamentary elites and few others, while showing scant interest in the job of repr... more »

This blog is witness to my approval of both candidate Trump and President Trump. I was not a Never Trumper or a RINO. Conservatives felt that he was not conservative enough, but President Trump never was a conservative. He truly wanted/wants to make America great again and followed an agenda that would set many issues to right: defending the second amendment, trade imbalance, rebuilding the military, reversing the Obama Agenda in its entirety, building a wall and so forth. If you've read this blog before, you know that it's a MUCH longer list and I won't belabor the issue in detail.... more »

Has Donald Trump Been Forced To Give Up?

Has President Donald Trump abandoned the idea of transforming US politics? Over the last two months, his administration seems to have restructured AfriCom, CentCom and SouthCom, that have been authorised to join the battle against Chinese projects on the African continent, divide the Greater Middle East between Arabs and Persians, and destroy the State structures of the Caribbean Basin. These new missions are accompanied by a return of the neo-conservatives. The post Has Donald Trump Been Forced To Give Up? appeared first on OrientalReview.org.

You probably never heard of him but, as the European version of *Politico* reported this week Joram van Klaveren converted to Islam. Why is that notable? He is a former member of Holland's parliament, elected on Geert Wilders' neo-fascist anti-immigrant, Islamophobic party, the PVV. How to think about this? Imagine Dana Rohrabacher, Rod Blum or Dave Brat announcing he had just converted. Van Klaveren said he made the switch from critic to convert while writing a book about Islam. He told a Dutch radio interviewer that "During that writing I came across more and more things that ma... more »
