*November 21, 2018 *(Joseph Thomas - NEO) - Five years into China's ambitious One Belt, One Road (OBOR) initiative sees analysts and political circles around the globe taking stock of Beijing's progress. I'd be fascinated to hear more about how these comments to the Associated Press came about. Surely the Chief Justice must have told someone to tell the journalist to call him for this statement. Fascinating guidelines for manners of well educated people

Norma at Collecting My Thoughts - 9 hours ago
Because of Jim Acosta, there will need to be specific, written guidelines for behavior of journalists. He can only lose his press pass if he violates written rules, not common decency rules everyone understands. In the past, there was an unwritten, decency code which journalists recognized in order to be welcomed at the White House (or anyone’s house). Many groups on Facebook or online content services now have guidelines on how to post comments or content. This one is from PLOS, a science publication website. Imagine having to tell well educated people not to plagiarize or defame... more »

Julian Assange Deserves a Medal of Freedom, Not a Secret Indictment

James Bovard at - 9 hours ago
[image: undefined] Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been secretly indicted by the Trump administration’s Justice Department, “a drastic escalation” of the feds’ efforts against him, the New York Times reported. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has denounced Wikileaks as a “non-state hostile intelligence service” and labeled Assange a “fraud,” “coward,” and “enemy.” But rather than a federal indictment, Assange deserves a tweaked version of one of Washington’s hottest honorifics. Wikileaks has been in the federal crosshairs since it released scores of thousands of documents exposi... more »

Voter Fraud Is Just a Myth They Say......

Using cash and cigarettes as lures, the defendants approached homeless people on skid row and asked them to forge signatures on state ballot measure petitions and voter registration forms, the district attorney's office said. Protecting Children from Radiation

Majia's Blog at Majia's Blog - 13 hours ago
I am guilty of sentimentalizing children. They are literally our future. We must not foresake them. Yet we do, over and over again. And in so many ways. In particular, their environmental health should be our priority and by environmental I mean social, biological, and physical environments. But let's focus here on physical environment. Children are, of course, much more susceptible to injury from environmental hazards than most adults. This is an established fact. Yet, environmental protections for children are being loosened in the US and Japan. The New York Times reports that... more »

This could knock as much as 0.4C off global... more »
