*Dave Majumdar* *Security, * Why? *The SR-71’s JP-7 fuel—which also had to be carried onboard specialized KC-135Q tankers to refuel the Blackbird—was designed to be a safe, high-flashpoint fuel that would not vaporize or blow up under extreme heat and pressure. It had such low volatility that one could supposedly extinguish a match in a puddle of JP-7. But that also meant that the fuel was difficult to ignite using the convention systems, which meant Lockheed had to develop a triethylborane-based chemical ignition system for the SR-71’s engines—adding to the jet’s complexity an... more »

I'm not a fan

Peter at Bayou Renaissance Man - 14 hours ago
I was more than a little mind-boggled to learn that Alien Gear plans to introduce an inside-the-waistband holster with a fan in it. I can only assume this is some sort of advertising gimmick. For a start, the fan couldn't push cooling air through the holes at the rear of the holster, because your body will block them! It'll just push air uselessly against your skin, then blow it out the top or bottom of the holster. There's also the question of security. If you're carrying inside-the-waistband, presumably covering the gun with an outer garment, you don't want it to be noticed... more »

Donald Trump and the Declaration of Independence

The Declaration of Independence occupies a far smaller place in Donald Trump’s public rhetoric than in the public rhetoric of any other modern president. In the *Wöchentliche Nachrichten* of 1741, Gregorovius said, among other things: *I cannot make a secret of the fact that the philosophy of Aristotle has been so maligned and ridiculed since so many new systems have appeared after the beginning of this century… that no dog would take a piece of bread from an Arist... more »

Not half knowing who we are, we watch the ghost of us drift from room to room, through friends and lovers never quite as real as advertised. Not saying half we mean or meaning half we say, we dream ourselves from birth to birth seeking some true self. Until the fever breaks and the heart can not abide a moment longer as the rest of us awakens, summoned from the dream, not half caring for anything but love." ~ Stephen Levine

*Body Cams* The Black Community (whatever that is) is now upset that police are using body cameras. They don't show police officers gunning down negroes, but they do show inner city people acting like a bunch of savages, aiding the police in convincing juries to convict. Many black leaders are now calling for the elimination of body cams because - wait for it - *they're racist*. Isn't that just precious? My personal feeling about body cams is that they are generally a negative thing that causes officers to be less diligent. However, the police have found that cameras in the cars t... more »

Q anon Feed

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 22 hours ago
I post here the Q anon feed from this past weekend. It is cryptic and loaded with intel shorthand and difficult to work around. Plenty of that has been done though by commentators. My take on the ongoing situation is that a war room has been set up in the Whitehouse and that Q has been tasked with feeding intel to loyalists in order to prepare at least a part of the public for the disclosure coming. We know 10,000 sealed indictments now exist. We have been told that the military is in charge already as what we are dealing with is likely deemed as an attempted coup by elements o... more »

Donald Trump took a shot at Big Pharma with Dr Sears

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 22 hours ago
I have little doubt that Trump plans to hugely shake up the whole Pharmaceutical industry top to bottom. I am also certain he plans a full reform of the whole Drug War Meme. That does not stop him now playing to the pro drug war crowd ahead of the coming shake down of the States for their needed cooperation. There is a much deeper game been played here. Ask me in eight years how it all worked out. Right now Trump is frying some very big fish that puts all this on the back burner, but never forgotten. Recall that the USA has developed an array of deeply entrenched instituti... more »

How Facebook's Secret Unit Created Digital Propaganda Troll Armies To Influence Elections

I do not see how this ends well. The propensity to fabricate scandal in order to achieve an electoral result has already been shown. A strong candidate may be able to shake it off, but we are quickly looking at a n electoral war of false stories drowning out actually listening to what the candidate had to say. Last presidential campaign it was literally impossible to read anywhere a text of the Trump stump speech. Why not? You get my point. Yet when it became possible to actually sit down and listen to a full speech, you were not disappointed. May i then ask a question?... more »

The top ten really big SCIENCE LIES of 2018

arclein at Terra Forming Terra - 22 hours ago
This pretty well catches the story. The correct problem is hardly science though but that corporations will direct the results of their science based research to support their product line. Exactly the same as salting those gold assays. It is way easier to manipulate the lab work than to discover something that may simply not exist. That is really the story of Roundup. That it why it was obviously a fraud coming out of the gate. It actually killed all plant life but it also impacted animal life in a serious manner as might be expected. Both the Germans and the Japanese have excellent fire control, but the contest is unequal.
