Water and Environment ( and a climate quip )

The utility of endless propaganda is that it conditions people to believe the most ludicrous propositions as if they were self evident wisdom - and the more that angle is flogged...the weaker the argument becomes. This is a comment I made on Facebook to a fellow who has tuned me into the perfidy of the state on many occasions .... but we can all be caught unaware.

* No, not THAT John Farnham.  Before starting blogging, 12 pages of Search returns about John P. convinced me that blogging under my own name would ever consign me to be lost in the far pages of the forgotten
John Farnham smile emoticon* For a chap who knows that the lying of the Establishment is ever inventive, believing that the sky is burning and we is all going to fry should ring faint little alarm bells at the similarity to Chicken Little's panic. Even the church...especially the church...has fallen in behind the premise that man controls climate. Farmers and meteorologists especially must be busting a gut in laughter at the gullibility of man. I first noted this AGW story Nov 30 2009 and have been collecting articles surrounding it ever since. Australian Climate Skeptics have been especially vociferous in their scorn about the proposition we are going to significantly affect the weather....declared as authoritatively so without a shred of proof. How do you react when told 'the science is settled' about what is essentially prophecy....and data by its very nature is unavailable about something that has not happened yet ? http://oldephartte.blogspot.com/.../oz-to-loose-ministry...
A look at the history of Newcastle and the Hostmen ( energy supply monopoly holding Europe hostage for centuries ) should remove any disbelief that energy - necessity of wars - is not endlessly schemed about and around regarding its control.

As for "97% of scientists agree"...scientists believe in inquiry. Its lack is a sure sign that their views are not accurately represented. Nor is a bipolar believer/skeptic assignment of views adequate to cover the range of possibilities.

Which is why what is clearly appropriate cynicism is noted.

Since its origins, the IPCC has been open and explicit about seeking to generate a ‘scientific consensus’ around climate change and especially about the role of humans in climate change
