Peace Walk Arrives in Saco

Bruce K. Gagnon at Organizing Notes - 6 minutes ago
We walked 17 miles today from downtown Portland to Saco where the UCC church will host a pot luck supper and provide home stays for all of us. Bob Klotz, a leader of Maine 350.org, did the first three miles with us and took this photo. and some others that he posted on Facebook. Also this morning, just as we were starting from Monument Square in Portland, a woman from Montana saw us and walked two miles with us. She is in Maine on vacation. Surprisingly she just turned up at the church here in Saco and is going to walk with us tomorrow. We are expecting a large group of Vetera... more »

[image: Review of "Save the planet & stuff" by Gail Gauthier] I recently had the pleasure of reading *Save the planet & stuff* by Gail Gauthier. *Save the planet & stuff* is an environmental fiction. It's geared toward young adults and offers readers a delightful comedy about a typical teenage boy from the city who accepts a summer job in Maine with two of his grandparents' elderly, Eco-dedicated friends. Let's take a look at the book's trailer: The clash between generations and lifestyles gives the book a solid premise. It's hilarious when Michael has to endure the absence o... more »

For those who don’t know, “RT” stands for “Russia Today,” a news channel headquartered in Russia. “Russia Today America” is run by Americans, who are not interfered with by Russians. Those of us who have done our “homework” know that this was a lie (possibly unknown to Abby at the time). In fact the U.S. government lies about anything of importance to its citizens …and these lies are repeated by the so called “mainstream media” without the slightest attempt of verification. So did Russia Today fire Abby? Nope! Global wealth hit another new record of $263 trillion as of mid-2014, up 8.3% from mid-2013 (Report, p. 3). Rich people are doing well, but how about the middle class? One measure of this is median wealth per adult, the exact midpoint of the wealth distribution. In the United States, mean wealth per adult reached $347,845, and median wealth per adult hit $53,352 (Databook, Table 2-4). This represents an increase in median wealth of 18.8% over 2013, enough to move the... more »

Lien in desperate move: Ko= economic doom!

Michael Turton at The View from Taiwan - 22 hours ago
FormosaNation on Twitter, who has been doing a great job tracking the Taipei mayor election, passed this glorious moment around. Here is Sean Lien, the KMT mayoral candidate for Taipei, announcing that if he isn't elected, the economy is doomed. People on Twitter pointed out that his solution is the same as Ma's: more China. That might have played in 2008. It won't play now. The government's insistence on failed China policies has backfired on one of the KMT's most critical claims in maintaining electoral superiority: the claim that it can deliver on the economy. Clearly, with Ma i... more »

Eichmann Was Completely Unrepentant About The Extermination Of The Jews

Adolph Eichmann, like Mitt Romney, started off as an advocate of self-deportation I never understood Roland’s interest in Jews-in-exotic-places but whenever we travel to off-the-beaten path countries, he always wants to visit synagogues— in places where you wouldn’t expect Jews, like Singapore, Yangon, and India. We still haven’t visited Madagascar but there’s even a small Jewish community there. Until Hitler decided to invade Russia, it looked like there was going to be a really big Jewish community in Madagascar. Yes, the news everywhere around the world has continued to be about the Ebola "crisis"…. You cannot turn on any of the Jew spew media outlets these days and not watch the constant harping by the liars in our media with their constant scare mongering about this Ebola "outbreak" and calls for something to be done about this crisis, meaning the impending forced inoculation of the general public by big Pharma's poisonous vaccines…. I am still not convinced that we are dealing with a real "pandemic" and have continued to wonder if this fear mongering is being done purposely just to diver... more »

*"The Status Quo: Life as We Know It"* by Madisyn Taylor, The DailyOM "Our lives can sometimes become status quo and that is ok as long as we aren't keeping it that way on purpose. When our lives are going well, and sometimes even when they aren’t, we may find ourselves feeling very attached to the status quo of our existence- life as we know it. It is a very human tendency to resist change as though it were possible to simply decide not to do it, or have it in our lives. But change will come and the status quo will go, sooner or later, with our consent or without it. We may find a... more »
