These three women were arrested while peacefully blockading the expansion of Enbridge’s Line 6B pipeline in Michigan – the same tar sands pipeline which caused the largest inland oil spill in U.S. history. They are, in short, heroes.
And yet they were found guilty of trumped up charges in a Michigan courthouse last Friday--and were handcuffed and jailed immediately, pending their sentencing March 5th. They now face 2-3 years in prison.

Researchers at Virginia Tech have successfully created a sugar-powered fuel cell that has an energy storage density of 596 amp-hours per kilo — or “one order of magnitude” higher than lithium-ion batteries.
