please! There are no tests currently to confirm that these “anomalies”
are a direct result of the oil/correxit laden waters, however the
percentage of fish with lesions before the
spill was less than 1/5 of 1%, and after jumped to a gut wrenching 50%
in some areas. According to the FDA however, there is no correlation
between the two, and the food is 100% safe for consumption. You may feel
comforted that the FDA has performed its rigorous testing and came out
in the clear, but would you feel as comforted if you knew that the
“rigorous testing” consisted of an employee holding your seafood to
their nose for a mere sniff-test, and then send it right on down the
line with a stamp of approval?
So no more consumption of Gulf
food for me, but you are probably asking yourself “why won’t she eat
seafood from the rest of the worlds oceans?”. Aside from the amount of
pollutants flying through the air because of us careless, uninformed
humans, the amount of overseas oceanic disaster is enough to frighten me
away from any seafood. Nuclear plants in Japan having meltdowns, oil
rigs and oceanliners going under…no, its safe to say that this girl will
remain seafood free as long as we humans continue to exist on this
planet.

traveled to Kiewit Offshore Services in Ingleside, Texas this week for a
tour of Anadarko Petroleum’s newest and largest deep-water production
platform. Their behind-the-scenes look at the monumental Lucius
platform spar revealed more than they expected. The grounds were buzzing
with workers and cranes putting final touches on several towering
structures that soon will go to work in the Gulf of Mexico. Here’s a

"Perhaps those from my hometown will become more interested in the actions of BP now. BP is now in your backyard with their toxic brew. Their feel good commercials will soon follow telling you ''It's all good''. Remember when we were little kids and Lake Michigan was so polluted we could not swim in it. Dead fish were everywhere? The the ''Give a hoot, do not pollute'' activities started. The fish stopped dying, we could go back in the water. Remember all those dead fish on the beaches? Well, they will be returning if they have not already."
